New features and upgrades that will boost your simulation capabilities and improve your workflow.
Find Errors with Model Check Dialog
Save valuable time by performing a model check prior to running your simulation. Find critical errors and address them before you hit the ‘Run’ button.

Complete a Transient Restart from Intermediate Timesteps
Rather than re-running the entire simulation when your model diverges, seed the corrected simulation from the last good timestep containing results with transient restart data. This new feature includes a setting to control saving transient restart data at intermediate timesteps during a run, and the ability to choose which time step to seed from when using Transient Restart.

Visualize Moisture Results
Visually track moisture accumulation on surfaces or in fabric layers using the new ‘Moisture Results’ display mode. This mode also supports visualizing the relative humidity to provide greater insights into the evaporation, condensation, and accumulation of moisture on parts using the Moisture Transport feature.

Track Nodes with Slowest Convergence Each Iteration
Use the ‘write maximum temperature change per iteration’ option while running in distributed parallel. Find the nodes with the highest tolerance in each iteration and write them out to a text file, which will help to debug models that are converging slowly or diverging.
Improved Transient Model Stability
The multigrid solver now provides improved stability for some transient models – especially those using exhaust streams with changing mass flow rates.
Read Additional Element Types from Abaqus INP File
We have added support for reading many linear element types when importing INP files with the standard 2D and 3D shapes supported by TAITherm. This allows you to reuse mesh files from your finite element analysis in TAITherm.
Import CFD Data from CSV Files with Custom Headers
You can now customize column headers in the CSV point cloud file when importing CFD data. This simplifies the process when reading in data from different CFD solvers by removing the requirement of using a fixed set of column headers.
Increase Accuracy with Multivariable Drive Cycle CFD Interpolation Settings
Two new interpolation options were added for the inverse distance weighting method. Apply imported CFD to a thermal model when they are associated with multiple independent variables (CFD records may be associated with a time value, a speed value, or multiple values associated with curves). This provides more accurate results when more than two independent variables are used.
Report Advanced Solver Parameters to Messages Window or Console
Your solver option will now be printed in the Messages window or console when running a thermal analysis. If you are using the ‘Multigrid’ option, all of the multigrid solver settings will also be reported.
Updated Branding
Applications and packaged utilities now share a versioning scheme of <Year>.<Major Release>.<Minor Release>, helping to clarify the origin, currentness, and compatibility of the applications. The branding on application icons and splash screens has also been updated.
