PowerTHERM v12.7

Version 12.7 contains several upgrades that will boost your simulation capabilities and improve your workflow. Below is a list of our top features to give you a taste of some of the advancements we have made.

Part layer design temperature limits

You can now specify maximum and minimum design temperatures in multilayer parts which allows you to set different thresholds for each layer material.

Improved thermal results plot/export speed

Plotting and exporting thermal results for single or multiple elements and parts is much quicker.

Improve thermal solution accuracy for solid elements

We have added an additional optional algorithm that allows you to compute conduction in solid or volume elements with greater accuracy.

Javascript support for User Routines

Scripted user routines are now written in JavaScript, which has an increased performance speed of up to 10 times that of our previous scripting platform.

Export convection data to point cloud

You can now export convection boundary conditions used by a simulation to a point cloud. This provides an easier transfer of boundary conditions between models. You can also now sort, multi-select and multi-delete data in your entry tables.

Export texture map of temperature and radiance results

You are now able to export a texture model that contains computed temperature and/or radiance values.

Multi-variable CFD Import

You can now import CFD results that can be interpolated by any number of user-defined variables, instead of strictly time and speed as previous versions allowed.

Averaging Radius Feature in Thermal Reports

The new “AveragingRadius” keyword for thermal reports computes an area weighted average temperature around the peak element temperature of parts. The averaged maximum temperature can be used for many thermal report items including images, geometry and color scale max and min values, image items generated with autoscale, and design temperatures. This eliminates artificially high temperature values that skew peak temperature results.

BRDF Image viewer usability improvements [MuSES/TAIThermIR only]

The BRDF image viewer was redesigned to take advantage of contemporary monitor aspect ratios and reduce the effort required to analyze sensor images. Viewing area size is now adjustable, sensor.
