CoTherm v2.1 contains several new features and upgrades that will boost your simulation capabilities and improve your workflow. Below is an overview of what we have included in the new releases. If you're interested in the updates we've made to TAITherm v13.0, click here.
We have implemented support of OpenFOAM CFD simulation in CoTherm by adding new tool/task types and extending existing resources. Both the open-source distributions (openfoam.org and openfoam.com) and commercial distributions (iconCFD, Engys Helyx, etc.) are supported. All supported CoTherm processes can make use of OpenFOAM CFD simulations including steady or transient coupling, drive cycle analysis, and optimization.
Fully transient thermal-CFD coupling
With this new coupling process, you can now complete fully transient thermal-CFD coupling processes in CoTherm, allowing you to capture transient fluid dynamic effects within coupled simulations.
Selection Expression Variable for easier coupling
With the addition of the Selection Expression Variable, CoTherm allows a list of model components to be custom-formatted in any command line argument or text file. This enables user-friendly CoTherm resource inputs to be easily linked to analysis tools which are not yet natively supported.
Scatter Plot resource
With the addition of the scatter plot resource you are now able to create plots to compare the values of different variables. This features offers insight into the relationship between different input and output variables (for example within optimization or DoE processes) which allows you to understand the influence they have on each other.
Updated method for DOE variable specification
DoE variables can now be defined based simply on min/max values (in addition to the previous capability to reference Curve variables). You can now set up ranges for unknown variables that you would like to include in a sensitivity study in CoTherm, which extends the usability of DoE tables for more applications.
